A Royal Welcome, Cupcakes and Candyfloss in Mayfair for Celia Kritharioti’s First London Spring Summer 12 Catwalk Show!
Celia Kritharioti’s first London show was a glittering affair watched by royals, celebrities and VIP’s packing into the impressive venue in London’s Mayfair. Guests included His Royal Highness the King of Greece and family. Number One Mayfair was chosen for its extraordinary interior with the designer herself choosing to illuminate the building in candy pink tones for the occasion. With a giant bespoke candy-pink iced cupcake suspended over the runway, models wearing candy floss wigs instead of their natural hair with a candyfloss stand to boot; this event was not to be missed. The entire show was heavily endorsed with Celia’s signature humour, femininity and a lot of refreshing girly chic, the candyfloss backdrop enhancing the gowns immaculately.
Front row guests included King Constantine of Greece, Crown Princess Marie-Chantalal, Princess Tatiana, Made in Chelsea’s Caggie Dunlop, Kim Hersov, Assia Webster and Sophie Anderton. The show finale featured the designer’s children wearing matching pink wigs alongside a model in a wedding dress, each wearing couture bridesmaid gowns.
Celia’s dresses have been worn by international names, including Gisele, Elle MacPherson, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell and Laeticia Casta, to name a few.
With her very own ateliers to produce these incredible creations, Celia is a name to watch in the industry.
